Sneakers Made By Different People, Go By Many Names

Sneakers are a very popular form of footwear that people use on a daily basis. They are worn for athletic activities including sports events, running, walking and just for the comfort ability of everyday life. Sneakers are made by different brands. The most popular brands are Nike, Reebok and Addidas. Some basketball stars have their own sneaker lines. Air Jordan, by NBA legend Michael Jordan, is the most popular among them all. The shoes have become so popular that there are factories making knock-off versions of the sneaker in China, selling them at a discount and passing them off as the real thing. The real Jordan sneaker sells for about $160 and up. Other currently popular basketball sneakers designed by famous NBA players include Kobe Bryant’s Nike Kobe and LeBron James’ Nike LeBron. The prices run approximately around $150 for each. Sneakers are nicknamed kicks, but they also can be called tennis shoes. The nicknames vary in different countries. The British refer to them as trainers, whereas the Australians call them sandshoes, gym boots or joggers. In South Africa sneakers are called tackies and canvers in Nigeria. In the past, sneakers were made from canvas and rubber. As time went on, manufacturers started using different kinds of material for support and now use vinyl, suede and leather.
