The British refer to them as trainers, whereas the Australians call them sandshoes, gym boots or joggers. In South Africa sneakers are called tackies and canvers in Nigeria. In the past, sneakers were made from canvas and rubber. As time went on, manufacturers started using different kinds of material for support and now use vinyl, suede and leather.
